| Quick update from Texas! Life is so good! Jennifer and I got to my grandparents house yesterday afternoon and it's been so good to finally relax and hang out with the fam! It is wonderful to have a lil' break from school- last week was the craziest of my life! I'm getting as much R&R as possible before starting school a week from Wednesday! (ok, just now noticed that every sentence has ended in a "!"... I'll try to keep it up...) Tomorrow the plan is to go to our favorite Tex Mex restaurant and then maybe do some shopping for the incredibly cool JAM pad! Exciting times! Hmmm.. what else... I'm reading the Screwtape Letters! Sooooo good! I love C.S. Lewis! Anyway, I'm getting warn out from this exciting post...!!!!... and we're about to eat hamburgers... so until next time! Long-distance hugs sent your way! | | |
| Ya'll! I feel so bad about not posting! Life has been incredibly crazy the past couple weeks, but I know that's no excuse! I don't think I got more than five hours of sleep every night last week and I'm thinking it's just going to be a repeat this week. Two papers due this week and next week all craziness breaks loose! Sunday: Anatomy Quiz. Monday: Anatomy test. Tuesday: Ethics final and three literature critical responses due for English. Wednesday: Anatomy final. Packing up and moving out on Thursday! Woohoo! I'll be finished with this crazy summer semester and on my way to Bham on Friday! Jennifer and I will leave for Texas early Saturday morning, stay until the following Friday, and then head back to Auburn where classes start on the 17th. Whew! Life is flying by, but I'm so excited! I was looking at my nursing sylabi today and seeing what will be in store for me in a couple weeks. SOOO exciting! AND my stethoscope came yesterday and you will all be pleased to know that I have a very consistent and strong heartbeat (I check often... just in case...)! People in Texas... prepare for the new nursing student to take your BP and listen to your heart/breathing... several times... maybe every day... maybe every hour! Haha. Anyway, I need to get back to some reading and then right a paper... almost done! I think I can, I think I can! Love you all! | | |
| | You scored as Jane Bennet. As someone who would rather see the good in people, Jane is a true pacifist and caregiver. At times, her shy temperament and naïve outlook of people can land her in a compliant position, but those who know her love her for her positive spirit and cheerful view of what surrounds her.

| I'm beginning to think that Monday tests are one of the biggest evils known to man. Especially Monday finals! Yup... tomorrow is my World Lit. I final and I have bitter sweet emotions at this present time. Bitter: I hate essay tests, always have, always will, and there is no amount of wishin' and hopin' that will make this final tomorrow go away (although I have been desperately trying). Sweet: Tomorrow is the last meeting of this hectic and intense class! Don't get me wrong... I have really enjoyed the class and the books we've read, but there is a limit to the amount of work required for a class that one can take! Especially for a summer class! But life is good. I'm starting to get excited about my World Lit. II class starting on Tuesday. We are reading all novels which should make for an interesting last half of the summer.
'Nuf said about school! This weekend has been really relaxing... I've done a lot of reading, mostly involving an incredibly good book called a Damsel in Distress. I think the title speaks for itself- very gratifying for my romantic self! I then set about my usual practice of movie-watching. This weekend I watched Stuck on You (funny in parts...), Schindler's List (listen to your mother when she tells you that you're heart can't handle such a movie), Shadowlands (excellent movie but wasn't exactly the upbeat movie required to provide the damage control that was needed after Schindler's List), and The Long, Long Trailor (brought back Fond, Fond memories of hanging out at Nana and Pa's house renting movies all summer!). Needless to say, my continual thirst for movies was quenched this weekend.
So... what's happening this week? Welp... anatomy in the morning, literature test at 11:30, lab, then headed to Moe's with the awesomest lab group ever!, and finally proving my nursliness with getting more shots. New classes start on Tuesday (Lit II and Ethics), dinner with Mike before RUF, and then RUF itself. Wednesday-Friday will be class as usual and then I'm headed off to Birmingham for a fun-filled Fourth of July weekend with the Jen and awesome friends! I'm so looking forward to this weekend! But now... life is in the present, duty calls, and I shall return to my studying. Sweet dreams and happy Chocolate Pudding Day! | | |
